Privacy PolicyPBI Technology has adopted the National Privacy Principles. The following extract is from the Privacy Act 1988, amended by the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000. 1. CollectionWe only collect personal information in the process of conducting business with your organisation or for maintaining a relationship with you. Information is collected either directly from you, a person in your organisation, or through a third party whom we believe has informed you that your details may be provided to us. We store personal information to ensure we can maintain contact with the organisations with which we do business. This contact may be verbal, electronic or written. The reason for that contact may be to inform, request assistance or to maintain a relationship. Where practical, we will only collect information directly from you. Should the information be collected from a different source we will do what is reasonably possible to inform you that we have collected the information. 2. Use and disclosureThe information collect will only be that which is necessary for the conduct of business with your organisation. Information gathered by us in one instance may be used in another instance unless you specifically indicate otherwise. We only use the information which we receive about you for the purpose of doing business with your organisation, or in relation to that purpose. Your information may be given to third parties, such as vendors whom we represent or other organisations that we use to assist us in the conduct of our business. We may be required to disclose information we hold about you, to agencies authorised by or under law. 3. Data qualityWe will reasonably ensure that the personal information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up-to-date. 4. Data securityYour information is held in either paper-based records or in electronic form in our databases. We take reasonable steps to protect this information from misuse and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently deidentify personal information that is no longer needed for any purpose for which the information may be used or disclosed under Privacy Principle 2. 5. OpennessThis document clearly discusses the policies of how we manage personal information we hold about you. The document is freely available to anyone who asks for it. You may make written request to find out what sort of personal information we hold, for what purpose, how we collect, hold, use and disclose this information. 6. Access and correctionYou may access the information we hold about you for the purpose of accuracy by making a written request to us. We will do what is reasonable to provide access to this information for the purpose of correction. We will take reasonable steps to correct the information so that it is accurate, complete and up-to-date. 7. IdentifiersWe do not adopt or disclose identifiers assigned by third party organisations unless that identifier is a prescribed identifier assigned by a prescribed organisation. 8. AnonymityWhere practicable, individuals have the option of not identifying themselves when entering transactions with our organisation. 9. Transborder data flowsWe may transfer personal information about an individual to someone who is in a foreign country only if the organisation is subject to a law that is substantially similar to the National Privacy Principles; or you consent to the transfer; or the transfer is necessary for the performance of a contract between you and the organisation, or for the implementation of precontractual measures taken in response to your request; or the transfer is necessary for the conclusion or performance of a contract concluded in your interest between the organisation and a third party; or the transfer is for your benefit and it is impracticable to obtain your consent to that transfer and if it were practicable to obtain your consent, you would be likely to give it; or we have taken reasonable steps to ensure that the information which we transfer will not be held, used or disclosed by the recipient of the information inconsistently with the National Privacy Principles. 10. Sensitive informationWe do not collect or hold sensitive information about an individual. |
